Thomas P. Chagaris

He was born in Jersey City, N.J. on June 3rd, 1941. Tom graduated from Tenafly High School, received credits toward a degree at American University in Washington, D.C. and is a veteran of the United States Navy.

He was the son of Peter and Emily Chagaris. He married Nifty (McNiff) on July 4th, 1968. Tom had a career as a restauranteur in his family’s restaurant, The Clinton Inn in Tenafly, N.J., Patricia Murphy’s Restaurants, Ft. Lauderdale and Deerfield Beach FL. He was a sales representative at Federal Wine and Liquor in Kearny, N.J. He opened his own T.P. Gatsby’s in Cresskill, N.J. in 1983. After moving to Tucson, AZ , Tom was the founder of Thomas Promotions Inc., an advertising specialty company, established in 1992. Tom was partly retired and still enjoyed working at Thomas with his TPI Family. He was a loyal supporter of several charities and religious organizations. Tom was always ready to spread God’s word. He loved spending Papa time with his family and enjoyed time with friends in a game of Golf.

Tom is survived by Nifty, his wife of 52 years, son Peter and daughter-in-law Tonja, grandsons Gabriel, 9 and Sebastian 5, daughter Kristi and son-in-law Chris, granddaughters Elena, 15, Molly 13, and Peri 12, and his beloved sister Linda Chagaris.

There will be a wake at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E Grant Rd., Tucson, AZ 85712, from 4-7pm on January 28th, 2021, the funeral mass will be at 10am January 29th at St. Thomas The Apostle Church, 5150 N Valley View Rd. (main cross streets Sunrise and Swan) followed by the burial service at 12 noon at East Lawn Cemetery.
