

Walter Carl Scott was born on June 11, 1918. He passed away peacefully at the age of 102 on June 14, 2020, joining his beloved wife Chris in heaven. Walter is survived by his only child, James (Karen), and his four grandsons, Latimer, Chamberlen, Jovinian, and Jared. He is also survived by three nieces and a nephew, Susan, Jan, Alan, and Marla. Walter enlisted in the US Army in 1937. He served his country as a sheet metal instructor during WWII, airplane mechanic, and in the hydrogen atomic bomb program in the 1950’s. He retired in 1964 at Ent Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO as a LtCol. There he was the executive officer at the interim headquarters of NORAD. After retirement, Walter and Chris moved to Grass Valley, CA, where they lived for almost 45 years. They were very active in their community and church, making lifelong memories and friends. After Chris passed away, Walter moved to Tucson, AZ to be close to his brother, Eugene, and his extended family. Walter will be remembered for his faith in God and for his love of family, country and community. Walter was buried with his mother and father at Hanover Green Cemetery in Hanover Township, PA, near his hometown of Nanticoke, PA. A graveside memorial service was held on June 26, 2020.
