

Colonel William T. Lincoln, US Army, Retired, passed from this life to eternal life on August 22, 2015. He was born in Rapid City, SD on November 12, 1924, to Francis and Florence Lincoln. He graduated from RC High School and the US Military Academy at West Point, NY (1946). His 30-year military career began with assignments in post-war Germany and ended at Ft. Huachuca in 1976. He held many interesting posts in locations ranging from Turkey to Alaska during those years.
After military service, he worked in Saudi Arabia for Telcom, Inc. and subsequently for National Public Radio as Director of Engineering. In retirement, he pursued his hobbies of travel (visiting 72 countries), lapidary, jewelry making and genealogy. He was active in the Mayflower Society, the Sons of the American Revolution as well as SERTOMA.
William was predeceased by his wife, Mary Anne. He is survived by his son, William, Jr., his daughter, Linda Layton and her husband Dr. David Layton. He has three grandchildren and two great grandsons.
Visitation will be held at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 E. Grant Rd. on Thursday, August 27 from 5 to 7 PM. A Funeral/Memorial service will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church, 6565 E. Broadway Blvd on Friday, August 28 at 11 AM.
Inurnment will be at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Ft. Huachuca. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Midtown Sertoma Audiology Scholarship Fund at P.O. Box 57643, Tucson, AZ 85732-7643.
