Sweet Agnes Lee Braget passed away, to join the love of her life on February 11, 2013. She was a wonderful wife to Paul Henry Braget for over 48 years; a dedicated mother and a wonderful gift of life, to her countless friends and family. Born on February 11, 1928, she passed on her 85th birthday, shy of 6 hours. 84 years and she was still spunky and fearless, completing a life filled with adventurer and her passport filled with stamps. She was equal parts passionate and compassionate, as much friend to humans as to our wildlife. She believed in respecting our land, water and all that earth gave to us. To her son, Paul Richard Braget and her daughter Sandra Lee Braget, she was a teacher of survival, a skilled gardener, an artist of oil painting, tapestry and sewing, the best cook in the world, cheerleader to many fun family activities; such as scuba diving, digging clams, boating, pulling in filled crab pots and nature walks. She loved to adventure off to anywhere. She was a friend to all wildlife and spent hours watching and feeding her birds, ducks and squirrels, on her porch, at her door and at times inside her house. When not being a sport and activity chaperon for the neighborhood, she would head for the bowling alley. As a high series bowler, she joined several bowling teams between 1960 to late 70’s. When not out playing, she was hard at work as Co-Owner and Vice President, from 1954 to 1989 with Braget Construction Co, Taylor and Braget Developers, Z &B Construction; until retiring with B.W. Construction Corp. Misses Braget was a member of South Sound Parkinson’s Support Group and a past member of Olympia Yacht and Outboard Club, the Moose Lodge and Lions Club. She loved the water and also had a passion to swim. For many years she swam to rebuild a crippled leg; after many doctors told her she could never walk again, she proved her will to walk and continued to “do life” until her death. To her grand children, they are proud to have her as their grandma. They hope to carry on her inspiration; devotion to family, selflessness, and strength. As an angel, she is with her love, and as any person who encountered her, her love will carry on. Aggie will be missed by her children; her sisters Jean Lee and Shirley Meyers; sisters-in-law Eleanor Pramuk, Janice Burkholder and Phyllis Braget, as well as 3 grandchildren, Natalie Weinberg, Mathew Bennington and Michelle MacAuley, plus two great grandchildren; her closest friends Shirley and Paul Shoblem; and her dear dedicated neighbors Charles Seldomridge and Carol Beaman, and many others. She was preceded in death by parents, Olis and Eva Applegate, husband Paul; brother Archie and sisters, Norma and Betty.
A celebration of life will be held Feb. 23rd, 2013 at 2 p.m. followed by reception at Mills & Mills Memorial Park, 5725 Littlerock Rd. SW, Tumwater WA 98512.
