Allen Roy Wicklund

September 29, 1948 - January 2, 2026

Henrico, Virginia - Allen Roy Wicklund passed away peacefully at his home in Henrico, Virginia on Friday, January 2, 2026 at the age of 77. Born in Olympia, Washington on September 26, 1948 to parents Roy and Iona (Calwell) Wicklund, Allen was a proud graduate of Tenino High School and Washington State University. He worked with Georgia Pacific Container, Allpak Container, and retired from Pacific Container Corporation

He enjoyed cheering his WSU Cougars, Mariners, and Seahawks through thick and thin, telling dad jokes (which were as reliable and free flowing as his kindness and generosity), baking chocolate chip cookies, and settling in with a good book. Allen enjoyed travelling near and far, and he and his wife Virginia (Ginny) shared many adventures abroad after retirement.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Linnea Smith and Lois Sanders. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Virginia (Fennel_) Wicklund, children Carrie Wu (Eugene Wu) and Mary Wicklund (Bill Patterson) and grandchildren, Amy Wu and Ian Gilbertson. He is also survived by his brother Robert Wicklund and Several Nephews and Nieces.

A celebration of Life will be held on February 14, 2026 at 1pm at the Tumwater United Methodist Church, 1401 Lake Park Drive, Tumwater, WA in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to local Alzheimer or heart Associations.
