Donald graduated from W.F. West High School and received his high school diploma as well as some architecture credits. He was married to Shirley Y. Balko on Feb. 9, 1961; they just shared their 57th wedding anniversary.
Donald worked in construction and carpentry all his life for independent contractors, Fish and Wildlife, and then retired from the Washington State Patrol. He had a passion for camping, fishing, sports, and woodwork.
He is survived by his wife Shirley; son Scott (Brenda) Sabin; daughter Kimberly Cahill; grandchildren Kari Cahill, Jake Perry, Joseph Cahill, Joshua Cahill, Derek Killian, Rachel Killian; and great-grandson Charlie Killian and numerous nieces and nephews.
Service will be Thursday, March 1 at 1 p.m. at Mills & Mills Funeral home.
