He is survived by his mother, Joan Ardel McClellan Evans, sister, Sheri Mackenzie, brother Lowell Evans, daughter Amber Joan Evans, son in law Brian Keith Staggs, son Brian Edgar Evans, granddaughter, Celia Olympia Staggs, Grandson Nash Evans. He followed in death his wife and love of 37 years, Cynthia Cindy Louise Hastings Evans, who died of cancer on December 15, 2018, his father, Edgar Samson Evans Sr.
Edgar was born in Olympia, Washington at St. Peter's Hospital. He remained in Olympia his entire life. Attending local schools, graduating from Olympia High School and college at Centralia Community College. While at Olympia High School, he met his future wife, Cindy. They moved into an apartment together, then shortly after, found their forever home. Cindy and Edgar were Married on January 1, 1981. They welcomed daughter, Amber in 1982, then son, Brian in 1983.
Edgar worked with the Department of Transportation until starting his self employment business, South End Services. He was a stay-at-home dad while Cindy worked for the Department of Revenue. She worked for 47 years until her medical retirement, and death.
Edgar had a collection and affinity for Olympia Beer and Collectibles. He drank it, kept anything with Oly on it, and pinned it to the wall. He enjoyed and spent many hours watching, playing and coaching sports. Baseball, softball, bowling and soccer. We all loved camping, and doing things outdoors, food gathering, shrimping, clamming, and fishing. Traveling, Goodwill-ing, and garage-saling, too. This was an especially big favorite of his and daughter, Amber's. Edgar also collected stamps, coins, baseball and other sports cards in addition to his precious Oly collectibles. He loved listening to music at all times, making all moments even more memorable. Edgar loved great tunes.
Dad, Edgar, my dear friend too, you will be so greatly missed. I cry and hurt every moment of every day.
Never, ever, ever forgotten...
Often remembered and thought of...
The hole your death has made will never fill, it will slowly take me time to learn to live with you far away. Our new memories we won't make are now filled with our memories we have. I miss your hugs and laughs and all of the fun sounds you make. I just cannot imagine a day without you. You are with mom again, together. That makes me smile knowing that you're back together. Where you should be, eternally. I will hold onto everything we have until I see you again. You spoke your mind and I respect that. You're a true one of a kind spirit, Dad. You too, Mom. Love you both so much. See you soon...
A celebration of life is being planned for Edgar and Cindy Evans. Details will be available shortly.
