“Have you made someone smile today?”
If you knew Greg Gregovich, you knew those were the words he lived by. Greg didn’t just enter a room; he brightened it. Whether he was singing and dancing down the grocery store aisles—much to the playful embarrassment of his daughter—or striking up a conversation with a total stranger, Greg’s mission was simple: show people love, bring them joy, and have fun.
Greg made his journey home to the Lord on October 16, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, hard work, and a "Good Samaritan" heart that knew no bounds. He was the guy who would stop for anyone on the side of the road and the friend you could call for anything.
A Life of Action and Craft
Greg was a man of immense skill who loved to work with his hands. His life of service began as a volunteer firefighter right out of high school. For the majority of his career, he was a proud Operating Engineer for Local 612, contributing his talents to major projects like the Narrows Bridge expansion.
But Greg’s creativity didn’t stop at the job site. He was a true craftsman who built several houses from the ground up as a hobby, including the beautiful family home in Gig Harbor. When he wasn't building, you could find him racing motorcycles, working on cars, or simply looking for the next way to help someone out.
His Greatest Joy
Above all his projects and hobbies, Greg’s greatest pride was his family. He was a man who ensured everyone felt seen, supported, and loved, regardless of what he was going through himself. He taught us that life is precious, fragile, and far too short to spend it without a smile.
Family and Legacy
Greg is cherished and remembered by his life partner, Bridget Riley; his daughter, Kaitlyn Gregovich; and his beloved grandson, Greyson Dean Rhodes, who was proudly named after his grandfather to carry on his name and his light.
He is also survived by his father, Richard Gregovich; his sister, Michelle Knox; and his brother, Tony Gregovich. Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Gregovich.
We find comfort knowing Greg is at peace, healthy, and reunited with his mother, likely already making the angels laugh. In his honor, we ask that you do as Greg did: make someone smile today.
The family is currently planning a celebration of life to honor Greg’s incredible spirit. Details regarding the date, time, and location will be shared here and on social media as soon as they are finalized.
In the meantime, we invite you to share your favorite memories, "bad" dad jokes, or photos of Greg on the memorial wall. He would want us all to keep the laughter going.
