

Jerry C. Lenzi, age 74, passed away at his home surrounded by his family December 29, 2018. He was born October 21, 1944 in Pocahontas, AR. Jerry graduated from Olympia High School in 1962, Saint Martin's college in 1970 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering, obtained his Master's Degree in Public Administration from the Evergreen State College in 1982.
During his dedicated 45 year career at the Washington State Department of Transportation he worked with many great people and reached many milestones. He became a professional engineer in 1975, professional land surveyor in 1980 and received his professional engineering license from the state of Idaho in 2003. Jerry was the recipient of the President's Modal Award in 1990 and in 2001 and The Governor's Distinguished Management Leadership Award.
Jerry retired in 2013 as Chief Engineer, Assistant Secretary of Engineering and Regional Operations. Jerry had many hobbies included hunting, traveling, sports, spending time with his family and was an avid reader.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years Shannon Lenzi of Olympia, WA., son's Tyler Lenzi of Boise, ID., Bryce Lenzi (Ranae) of Bend, OR., grandson Mark Lenzi of Bend, OR., brothers Jim Lenzi (Pam) of Olympia, WA., Jack Lenzi (Nancy) of Rochester, WA., and many nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
The family asks that any memorial donations may be made in Jerry's name to the American Heart Association.
