Kenneth Joe Capek Ken Capek passed away peacefully on May 24, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Ephrata, Washington on May 15 1948, grew up on a farm, graduated from Ephrata High and Washington State University in 1971. He married his soul mate, Beth that same year. Hired at the Department of Revenue in 1972, he spent 30 years in the audit division, retiring in 2002 as an assistant director. An active participant in life, Ken coached T-ball, fast pitch and was a horse superintendant for Thurston County 4-H. Loving life, Ken traveled the world with his wife and devoted his time to working with the Red Cross, volunteering at the Thurston County Food Bank and traveling. There was nothing he loved better than spending time with his family and grandchildren. Ken is survived by his wife, Beth, daughters, Kirsten (Keith) and Linn (Tomas) and four grandchildren, sisters, Judy Turner and Lucille Capek.
