Marie Marlene Robbins (Jones) of Olympia, WA, passed away on March 5, 2025, at the age of 85, with family by her side. We are deeply saddened, but know that Heaven gained the most beautiful angel. She was born on December 1, 1939, in Milton-Freewater, Oregon, to Everett and Myrtle Jones. She grew up in Elma and Olympia and went to Olympia High School - class of 1958.
She met the love of her life, Wayne, when he walked into her work at Polly’s Drive-in. They were happily married for 62 years. They started a family and had five children. The family lived in Wisconsin, Texas, Arizona and returned to WA State for retirement.
She is survived by four children: Rick Robbins and daughter-in-law Pam Robbins of Tenino; Jerry Robbins of Lacey; Dianna Graham and son-in-law Aubrey Graham of Santa Fe, TX; and Roxanne Bogart of Olympia, WA. Also survived by her sister Elaine O’Hare of Tumwater, WA. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Wayne Robbins; daughter Dawn Walsh (Robbins); sisters Alma Morin and Carol Scott; and brothers Carl Jones and Ronnie Jones.
Marie dedicated her entire life to her family and friends. Some of her greatest joys were spent with family, especially for birthdays, holiday gatherings and trips to the beach. One of her favorite times of year was summer when she would gather with her sisters and extended family to celebrate the 4th of July every year. She truly enjoyed being with family and getting dressed up for the occasion.
She loved her 8 grandchildren more than anything and had the most incredible bond with them. They blessed her with 19 great-grandchildren and number 20 on the way. The kids adored her and she was always wanting them to get in a photo with her. Every conversation with her was special and always full of laughter and love!
Marie enjoyed being a Sunday School teacher for 30+ years, and loved being a part of the TOPS group. In her later years, she spent time teaching herself how to play darts and enjoyed karaoke with her friends at Affinity. After she had taken a bad fall, she spent the last year and a half at Providence Mother Joseph’s Care Center. She was loved by everyone and made many friends and enjoyed sharing stories with the incredible staff that helped her everyday.
