She was born to Giovanni B. Peggia and Delfina M. Danni on December 09, 1922 in Seattle, WA. She and her older brother, Benny, grew up in Georgetown, Seattle.
A modern Italian wife, mother, and grandmother, Mary lovingly embraced her family, friends, her Italian heritage, and service to others.
She and her first husband, Cloyd O. Campbell, resided in View Ridge with their four children. Mary was a member of the Seattle Milk Fund and volunteered at UW hospital.
In 1970 she and Cloyd moved to Bellingham to try egg farming. Besides working on the farm, she worked at the Bon Marche and Bellingham National Bank as a loan officer. In 1985 they moved to Olympia, WA to be closer to family. Cloyd died in 1987.
While on a trip to Eastern Washington she met the second most wonderful man in her life, Virgil Thomann, and they married soon after. She and Virgil lived at Panorama, in Lacey, where she belonged to numerous service organizations and was also a volunteer at St. Michael's Catholic Church. She and Virgil loved cruising and traveling and Mary was proud to say she visited all 7 continents.
Mary was predeceased by her parents; her brother; her beloved uncle, Bernardo Peggia; and her two husbands.
Mary is survived by her 4 children, Patrick (Nancy), Tim (Carmen), Maureen Campbell-Hegg (Dean), and Brad (Jill, deceased); twelve grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; nephews Jim (Deysi) Reitz, Mark (Sheryl ) Reitz; cousin Bruno Bandiera; the Danni family in Italy; and Marlys Bourm and her family.
