She was born in Tahlequah, OK, Cherokee County in the summer of ’42, July 16th. She attended Buchser High School in Santa Clara, CA, graduating with her diploma in 1960. She married her first husband, Dale Allen Nelson, in 1960 the father of her two children. Many years later, she found and married the love of her life, Laurence (Bill) Bishop in June 1984. They enjoyed watching movies together and spent many weekends in the hills of the Olympic Forest target shooting. He preceded her in death February 1994.
She worked as a nurse assistant for many years in the St. Peter Hospital facilities. Retiring from DaVita dialysis center as a technician in early 2000.
She enjoyed visiting the Old Town Center Senior Center every weekday to have lunch with friends and play cards. She was a passionate cinephile and an avid collector of collectable Americana. She loved everything Elvis Presley. Cat lover, country music enthusiast, crafting, rubber stamping, reading and trivia.
She is survived by two sisters, Sharon Burrows and Cora Sue Johnson. Two children, her son, Ray Allen Nelson and his spouse Sally and daughter Julie LaRae Nelson. Three grandchildren, James Nelson, Molly Nelson and Allen Losano (spouse AnnaMarie). Two great grandchildren, Leilani and Mariana Losano.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Johnson; mother Ruth Johnson and brother James Steven Johnson.
