

Ray Forcier, 90, Olympia, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Bonaventure Senior Living, Lacey, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. Family members were with him as he transitioned peacefully to his new eternal home with the Lord.
A graduate of Roosevelt High School, Seattle (1941), and Navy veteran who served in North Africa during WW2, Ray was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Marian Forcier, and his daughter Susan (Forcier) Secrist.
Ray, a 37-year employee of Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Company (Seattle), accepted a promotion that brought him to Olympia in 1966 where he eventually retired in 1983. He enjoyed many years as a community volunteer, serving in lead positions with the local Lions Club, Telephone Pioneers, Thurston County Reserve Deputy Sheriff’s Department, and numerous charity fund-raising campaigns.
After inviting the Lord Jesus Christ into his life in 1977, Ray became a member of Olympia’s Evergreen Christian Center, and later, Faith Assembly of Lacey where he faithfully attended and served until his transition to memory care in late 2011.
Ray is survived by his wife of 72 years, Verna, his son Rick (Jill); son-in-law Dan Secrist (Anita); five grandchildren—Chad Forcier; Todd Forcier (Shannon); Jade (Forcier) Hayes (Chris); Justin Secrist (Angela); September Secrist; and eight great-grandchildren: Ellie Raye Forcier (11); Micah Secrist (7); Emma Forcier (6); Cashel Ray Forcier (5); Melody Secrist (4); Peyton Hayes (2 ½); Isla Forcier (2); Carter Ray Hayes 7 months.
Ray’s family would like to thank the Management and Caregiving Staff at Bonaventure Memory Care for their many kindnesses. The support you provided and the love extended to Ray during his time in your care will always be remembered with grateful hearts.
