

Richard Garner Hensley, age 54, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on January 5th, 2013. Rich was born in Reedley, CA on January 4th, 1959. His family moved to Lacey, WA in 1968. Rich graduated from North Thurston High School in 1977 and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at St. Martin’s College. Rich married Janet Hensley (McGimpsey) on May 29, 1982; they were married for 30 years.
Rich worked as a Professional Engineer for more than 25 years, most of which was with Washington State. He was a skilled handyman, always fixing and building things around the house. He enjoyed camping, hunting, playing soccer, coaching his kids’ soccer teams, building his 1933 roadster, and spending time with his family and friends. He was also actively involved as a member of the Church of Living Water for many years.
Rich is survived by his wife Janet and his three children, Brian and his wife Jacquiline, Sarah, and Megan; his parents, Ed and Bonnie Hensley; and his two brothers Chuck Hensley and his wife Melody, and Fred Hensley and his wife Monica.
A service to celebrate Rich’s life will be held Saturday January 12th, 2013 at 11:00am at the Church of Living Water, 1615 Chambers Street SE, Olympia. Arrangements will be provided by Mills & Mills Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
