

Robert was born on October 4, 1926 in McCammon, Idaho to Nephi and Ruby Orgill. He was the youngest of nine children who have all preceded him in death.
Robert was a veteran of the Second World War in which he served in the Pacific Theater with the US Navy attached to the US Marine Corps 5th Marine Division. He was 16 years old when he served as a US Marine Corp Corpsman on the island of Iwo Jima, receiving a Presidential Unit Citation for extraordinary heroism in action.
Robert returned home from the war to marry his childhood sweetheart, Laverd Elizabeth Crump on May 9, 1946. Later they were sealed for time and all eternity at the LDS Temple in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Robert was a retired construction superintendent at many power generation sites across the US and had a long affiliation with the Boilermakers Union which he was a member of most of his career.
Robert is proceeded in death by his oldest son, John Robert Orgill. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Laverd, his other seven children, Cathy Young, Bobbette Orgill, Pete Orgill, Tom Orgill, Mildred Smith, Millicent Bohart, Bill Orgill and all of their spouses. Also he is survived by his 23 grandchildren and their spouses, 47 great grandchildren(and an additional two on the way), and 1 great great grandchild.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2010 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the Mills and Mills Funeral Home at 5725 Littlerock Rd SW Tumwater, WA. Memorial services will be held at the LDS Church at 3800 Henderson Blvd. SE Olympia, WA 98502 at 10:00 am on Monday, March 22, 2010. Interment will be at the Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St. in Kent, WA at 2:00 pm. Following the interment there will be a private gathering for the family.
