Shirley was born on December 28th, 1934 in Jerome, Idaho to Winfred and Marjorie Powers. She was the last of their three children, having two older brothers, Ken and Dean. Shirley graduated from Grant High School, in Portland Oregon, in 1953. She met her husband Daniel in Portland, and they were married on July 10th, 1954. She was actively involved in her hobbies, shopping being one of them, and collecting odd things another. Mrs. Baker is preceded in death by her parents, Winfred and Marjorie. As well as her two older brothers, Ken and Dean. She is survived by her husband, Daniel, their four children, Tim, Terri, Tami, and Tom, as well as twelve grandchildren, and twenty great grandchildren.
Shirley never met a stranger, whether they were human or animals. All her life, except the very final years, were spent in the PTA, dance club, shuffling two generations of kids and casino hopping. Travels took her and Dan to Mexico many times, as well as numerous cruises with their dear friends, the Burches. She could always be in the middle of a conversation, invited or not. Shirley will now be able to catch up with all her friends, family, and animals that went before her.
There will be a service at Mills & Mills Funeral home in Tumwater, on September 23rd, 2022 at noon. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, due to allergies, the family requests kind thoughts.
