Tony was born in Oxnard CA before moving to Crows Landing in 1941. He attended Bellarmine
High School and later graduated from the University of Santa Clara. He met and married Sara
LaCosta in 1956. He was a farmer for his entire adult life in the Crows Landing area. He was
preceded in death by Sara, his son John Escobar and a great grandson Thomas Swindlehurst.
Tony is survived by sons Antonio Escobar lll and Frank Anthony Escobar, daughter Ann
Azevedo, daughter in laws Valerie Escobar and Teresa Escobar, a sister Mary Baca and by his
long time partner Mary Jane Moths. He has 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Tony loved to spend time with his grandchildren, or traveling all over the US and abroad. He
enjoyed square dancing but most of all he loved farming. He loved to spend time driving around
looking at the crops others were producing. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Parkinson
Foundation in his name.
A Rosary will be held on June 19th at 5:00 pm at Whitehurst, Norton and Dias Funeral Service 286 West Main Street, Turlock, California, 95380.
Tony’s Funeral will be held on June 20 at 10;00 at Sacred Heart Church 529 I Street, Patterson
California, 95363. Interment will follow at Hills Ferry Cemetery, Newman California.
