Gabriel "Gabe" Brasil Oliveira

Gabriel was born in Cruzal, Topo, Sao Jorge, Azores.

He leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Elizabeth M. Oliveira, his daughter Julie A. (John) Akin of Hilmar, his sons Mark G. Oliveira and Jason Oliveira of Hilmar, his grandchildren Riley and Quin Akin of Hilmar, his brothers Antonio (Durvalina) Oliveira of Modesto, and Louie (Linda) Oliveira of Turlock. He leaves behind his sisters: Fatima (Joe) Costa of Turlock, and Angela (George) Borba of Hilmar, his in-laws Manuel & Ida Souza of Hilmar, his brothers-in-law Manuel (Kari) Souza of Turlock, and Tony Souza of Hilmar, as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Antero & Amelia Oliveira, and his brother Jose Oliveira.

Gabriel was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar. He liked spending time with his granddaughters, carpentry, and making wine.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 1:00-4:00 P.M., Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 W. Main Street, Turlock.

Recitation of the Rosary will also be on Tuesday, at 7:00 P.M. at Holy Rosary in Hilmar.

Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, 10 A.M. at Holy Rosary. Burial to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
