Marla is survived by her son, Kyle Pruitt, and her daughter, Tracy Armendarez. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Nathaniel, Jesus “Chuy”, Gabriel, Rafaela “Sissy,” Elias, Alec, and Isaac. She is further survived by her brothers, Gary Michael Hedrick and Donald Guy Hedrick, and her dearest friend Debbie Courteau, as well as much-loved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Enzo, her parents and her Uncle Don Jerry.
Marla’s greatest joy in life was being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished every moment spent with her family, who were the center of her world. Her fondest memories were made at Lake Berryessa, where she enjoyed camping and creating lasting memories with those she loved.
She was an honest and truthful woman who faced life’s challenges with strength and determination. Though she experienced difficult times, she overcame life’s low points with the unwavering support of her family and friends. Marla was a strong and resilient woman whose perseverance defined her life.
Marla found joy in the simple things, she loved to eat, enjoyed cooking for others, and had a special fondness for chocolate. Above all, she wanted to be happy and to share that happiness with those around her.
A Graveside Service will be held at Plainsburg Cemetery 8943 Gillette Avenue, Merced, California 95341, on June 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
Marla will be remembered for her quiet resilience and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
