Mary A. Gomes

Mrs. Mary A. Gomes, age 89 “Entered into Rest” on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at her residence in Hilmar, CA. She was born in Gustine, CA and has lived in Hilmar for one year and previously in Turlock, CA for many years. Mrs. Gomes was a homemaker for 67 years, a member of P.F.S.A. Fraternal Co. #26 of Stevinson/Turlock/Hilmar and enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and trips to casinos. Mrs. Gomes is survived by her Son Raymond Shortreed and his Wife Starlet of Turlock; Daughter Doris Camarillo of Turlock; Grandson – Danny Shortreed of Gustine. She was preceded in death by her Husband of 42 years, Ben Gomes in April 2012; Parents – Albino and Erminda Costa; Two Brothers – Louie Costa and Albino Costa; Sister – Helen Batey.

Services – Visitation: Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. and both to be held at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel, 286 W. Main St., Turlock. Funeral Mass: Thursday, November 13th at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons Ave., Turlock. Interment following the Funeral Mass at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N.
