Max was a man most at home under an open sky where he could fish and camp in the calming atmosphere of untouched nature. Fishing was a favorite pastime for him as well as camping out. He was also very interested in classic cars and was captivated by their timeless beauty and craftsmanship.
An avid amateur photographer, Max carried his camera the way others carry a journal. Through his lens he was able to capture the beauty in everyday life and share it with those he loved.
But more than any hobby or talent, Max will be remembered for his heart. He was a truly kind and generous soul, the kind of man who showed up—without being asked and without expecting recognition. Whether it was fixing a neighbor’s broken fence, lending a listening ear, or quietly helping someone through a difficult time, he gave freely of his time, wisdom, and steady presence. He believed that a good life was measured not in possessions, but in the difference you made for others.
Max is survived by his children Aaron A. Edmiston, Audie A. Edmiston, Andy M. Edmiston, and Anita B. Burch and his siblings Donald Edmiston, Gary Edmiston, Dan Edmiston, Otis Edmiston, Wanda Short, Shirley Smith, Joyce Rheam, Ladonna Edmiston, and Susie Edmiston.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Lillian Edmiston and his parents Guy and Ovie Edmiston.
Max leaves behind a family who adored him, friends who relied on him, and a community made better by his acts of service.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
