Longtime resident of Modesto, “Glamour Gram”, Pat Peterson, passed away peacefully on July 7th following a brief illness. Pat was well known as a woman “dressed to the nines” with her hats and matching purse, gloves and shoes! Pat was born on January 29th 1932 in Mobridge, South Dakota to Lillian and Duane Holt. She graduated Valedictorian from Grass Valley High School. After high school she attended Chico State College majoring in business. Pat married George Peterson on September 1, 1951. George served during the Korean War and was stationed in Texas, where their first daughter Pam was born. After college she and George moved to Modesto where she was a full time legal secretary for local attorneys. She was very dedicated to her career. In fact, a picture of Pat was featured in the Modesto Bee holding her daughter Leanne, only a few weeks old at the time, with the headline reading “The Hand that Rocks the Cradle Also Takes Dictation”. One of her past interests was ballroom dancing and she and George received numerous trophies in competition. Pat was a “Die Hard” Giants fan and enjoyed watching the games with her family. Her favorite times were spent with her family and was known as “Grandma Pat” not only to her grandchildren, but nearly to everyone she met.
Pat is survived by her daughter and son in law, Leanne and Dimitri Guzman of Modesto. As well as 6 grandchildren, Drew Guzman and his wife Veronica, Bryce Guzman, Elliot Guzman, Ben Guzman, Gina Sayers and her husband Shane, and Joe Catanesi and his wife Shannon, all from Modesto.
