Arlene worked at Rehab Therapy when we all were at the old (DCH)Hale Memorial Hospital.  She was an "Awesome OT", she and I were aways laughing about something.  She had the cutest giggle.  I am so sorry for you loss of Arlene.  I really liked Arlene, she was so sweet.

I graduated high school with Arlene at Brookwood High.  She was such a sweet person to be around.  Quiet, humble, caring and compassionate.  I was glad to see and talk to her at our last high school reunion.  I am proud to have known her and to learn of how she spent her years caring for others, especially the elderly.  That vocation takes special people and I know Arlene's beautiful smile and infectious laugh must have made many happy moments for those that she lovingly cared for.  My prayers are with her family at this sorrowful time.  The service for her was beautiful.

I was looking forward to seeing Arlene in a few weeks for a visit up here to Minnesota. This just does not seem real. Arlene had some low points and pain in her life but was an example to all of us with her ability to look at life with humor. I will miss that most about her. That and her kindness and ability to overlook our shortcomings. My kids remember Arlene as the woman who was always giggling. I am one among many who will miss that unique Arlene laugh so much. You set an example for us all, Arlene, about how to be a good human being, a person of faith, and a friend. You have a large place in my heart and we are sure you will be guiding us. Peace to your family.

We knew Arlene since she was a teenager who spent many hours at our house.  She was a sweet, good-natured, caring person who enjoyed her family and friends, and the patients she worked with.  She was a prime example of what a good friend should be.  We will definitely miss seeing her and her bright smile. We were glad to know you, Arlene.

Arlene was my closest friend of 45 years. It seems she has always been part of my life. The first time we met, she was in a position of helping, and helping other people has been what her life was about. She had a true vocation for occupational therapy, and a love for the people she worked with. No one I have ever known has been as thoroughly nice and genuinely sweet a person. I will miss her for the rest of my life.

Arlene was my only wife of almost 5 years. Although we didn't have much contact after we divorced, She will always be a part of me. I didn't realize until her passing the depth of my feelings for her. She was a joy to be around.

Looking back to our time at Brookwood High School, it wasn't always easy to be a student whose dad was the principal. Arlene managed it well, though, with grace and her sense of humor. So glad she could attend the 40th reunion to reminisce about those days. In hope that it may bring a small measure of comfort or peace, I share this Eskimo proverb: Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. Arlene's kind and loving spirit continues to shine upon us.

Arlene and I were the two "other sisters" of the Evelsizer clan. While she and Julie were best friends, Julie's younger sister Tracy and I were the same. We spent many times in the Evelsizer house talking, laughing, listening to music, and just sitting quietly and reading together. I saw Arlene off and on after we became adults. She never changed. She was always sweet, kind, smart, and funny. She is loved, and will be greatly missed by all her sisters and friends, especially Julie. No two friends were more devoted to one another. Peace be with you Arlene.
