

Born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, she was the daughter of Hester and Bertha Lake. In her early years, she was a member of the United States Marine Corp. In her later years, Jane enjoyed working at Meadowbrook Barber Shop. She loved to cut hair and get to know everyone who came in.
Jane attended New Beginning Family Worship Center. She enjoyed crafting, cutting hair, spending time with family, gardening and traveling to Montana.
She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Brown and husband, Keith; son, Wally Helus and wife, Lyndall; and her son, Tommy Helus and wife, Amy. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Trey Thornton, Cameron Cooper, Savannah Helus, Jacob Brown, Sarah Grace Helus, Claire Brown, Baylee Walker, Rylee Helus, Sam Helus, Storm Helus and Molly Helus.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Hester and Bertha Lake.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.
Jane will be remembered as a nurturing and caring mother, grandmother and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She loved her family more than anything in the world. She had a huge heart and made everyone feel right at home. She never met a stranger and she always made sure the people knew how much she loved them. We will miss you Nana but we will see you again soon.
Pallbearers will be Reggie Lake, Wally Helus, Jr., Tommy Helus, Keith Brown, Jacob Brown and Trey Thornton.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Ann Lake and Tyrene Lake for always being there.
