

Bill Brock, age 92, of Cottondale, formerly of Anniston, died June 13, 2010, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Ivy and Pastor Brian Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Brock and Ola Gossett Brock, and his son, Mike Brock.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Smith Brock; his daughters, Carolyn Brock Andrews (Ray) and Iris Brock Rainey (John); his son, Charles E. Brock (Ardie); his sister, Mavis Taylor; his brothers, Tom Brock, Guy Brock, and Wallace Brock; his grandchildren, Eric Andrews (Carol) of Northport, Regina Sanders (Todd) of Taylorville, Tommy Blackmon (Kellie) of Cottondale, Carey Blackmon (Tamera) of Woodstock, Janna Gardner (Danny) of Trussville, Shannon Lacy (Blane) of Lineville, Debbie Hutton (David) of New Mexico, and David Brock of Colorado; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was a World War II veteran in Company B of the 654th Tank Destroyer Battalion. He retired from Anniston Army Depot as Chief of Supply Branch Depot Maintenance Division. After his retirement, he raised beef cattle.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Blackmon, Eric Andrews, Brock Broughton, Connor Broughton, Landon Andrews, Blane Lacy, Danny Gardner, and Todd Sanders.
Honorary pallbearers are caregivers Ressie Earwood, Angie Schrivner, Tamera Blackmon, Debbie Burris, Sarah Schrivner, Cody Smith, and Amedisys Home Health and Hospice Care, Burt Stewart of Anniston, Billy Goodwin of Weaver, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wiggly of Jacksonville, employees of Calhoun County Co-op, a special daughter-in-law Shelby Thornton and Bob, and Dr. Leonard Jones and staff.
