Bonnie Sue Dewey, age 72, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died August 7, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2018, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Ray Hallman officiating. Burial will follow in Duncanville Community Cemetery with Memory Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Byron Biggar, Jr. and brothers, Charles Byron Biggar III and Alan W. Biggar.
Survivors include her husband, George R. Dewey of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; daughters, Georgette Lester (Billy) of Hoover, Ala. and Ginger L. Dewey of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; mother, Juanita W. Biggar of Gadsden, Ala.; sisters, Barbara Colvin (Hubert) of Glencoe, Ala., Pamela Carroll (Jim) of Hokes Bluff, Ala. and Kathy Jones (Jim) of Huntsville, Ala.; and grandchildren, Jorja Lester, Aurora Lester, Fiona Lester and Mia Lester; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was born and raised in Gadsden, Ala. She was a graduate of Glencoe High School and received her nursing degree from Gadsden State Community College.
Bonnie moved to Duncanville, Ala. to begin a family and continue her nursing career. She was a certified LPN for 25 years and her generous and loving nature touched the lives of so many.
Bonnie's giving nature is evident in a quote she provided us on more than one occasion. "Do not reach out your hands to receive but draw them back from giving."
Pallbearers will be Charles Colvin, Jamie Colvin, Nolan Dewey, Eric Williams, Wesley Gulledge and James Jones.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Duncanville Baptist Church.
