Charles Preston Rushing Jr.

NORTHPORT – Charles Preston Rushing, Jr., age 67, of Northport, died August 25, 2016. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2016, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Skelton officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Rushing, Sr. and Cordelia Rushing; grandparents, Lillie and Eugene Tierce; mother and father-in-law, Malcom and Corrilyn Lee; grandparents, Goldman and Ozella Rushing; aunts and uncles, Alda Hutchins, Lenora Hutchins, Ettleline Skelton (Dick), B. G. Rushing, Donald Tierce, Rogene Tierce and Coredene Rushing; and brothers-in-law, Mack Lee, Brad Lee and Chris Lee. Survivors include his wife, Robin Lee Rushing; aunts, Ophelia Harrison, Sybil Tierce and Betty Rushing; uncle, Ben Tierce; brothers, Terry S. Rushing (Kelly) and Lyle Rushing (Jerri Gay); sisters-in-law, Holly Barnes, Tracey Lee and Kelley Hollingsworth (Carlis); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He was happily married to Robin for 47 years. He loved Alabama football and his family wants anyone to, to wear Alabama attire to the service. He was a longtime member of Macedonia United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be his friends who served with Charles during his service in Vietnam.
