Cindy passed away surrounded by those that loved her on January 14th, 2026. Cindy was a beloved wife, aunt, and friend to many. She was born on August 15th, 1954 in Vincennes Indiana where she spent most of her childhood before later moving to Centre, Alabama. She was a graduate of Cherokee County High School class of 1972. Later Cindy owned and operated local boutique, The Willow Tree, in the 80s where she took pride in bringing fashion to Centre. She married her husband, Steve Hopper in 1989, and they later retired in Tuscaloosa, AL where she enjoyed cheering on the Crimson Tide.
She is survived by her husband; Steve Hopper; and brother John Terry Cooper; her nieces Amber Cooper May (Chase) and Alexis Cooper Brock (Joel); great nephews and niece Cash May, Silas Brock, Lila May; and special friend Elise Keener. She was preceded in death by her parents John C. Cooper and Julia Cooper.
Cindy had an eye for beauty, a love for fashion, and carried herself with such grace. She made those around her feel loved, and everything she touched somehow became more beautiful. Everything she did was thoughtful, intentional, and done with care. Her grace, warmth, and love will live on in every memory she leaves behind.
A visitation and memorial service celebrating her life will be held Friday, January 30th, from 12:00-2:00 pm at Centre First United Methodist Church (Sanctuary).
