Earl Compton

Walter Earl Compton, age 66, of Northport, died Jan. 8, 2012, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Graham Cemetery in Reform with Rev. Ron McKay officiating and Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bernice Earl Compton.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Lynn Compton; his sons, Jason David Compton (Carla), Jeremy Lynn Nevin, and Benjamin Earl Compton; sisters, Sharon Compton Mackin and Camille Roberson (Jim); mother, Dorothy Lee Compton; and grandchildren, Kayla Grace Compton and Ryder Jones Compton.

Earl was a graduate of Auburn University and retired from Ramada Inn. His present employer was Mapco in Northport. He enjoyed being with people and lived life to the fullest. He loved spending time with family.

Pallbearers will be David Lee Burroughs, Ernie Gann, J.C. Hunter, Jeff Sullivan, Denny Capley, and Jhett Edward Thrash.

Honorary pallbearers are the Moose Family Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society .
