Emmett Perryman Solomon, Sr., 88, passed away on May 13, 2019, at his home in Eutaw, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Theodosia Solomon; sisters, Sue Solomon Ray and Hazel Solomon Westbrook. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary "Ditty" Solomon. His life will be remembered by his children, Jackie Ann Solomon Henderson of Moundville, Alabama, Rose Marie Solomon of Eutaw, Alabama, Perry Solomon (Latrisha) of Eutaw, Alabama, Walter Solomon (Tanda) of Knoxville, Tennesse, and Beth Solomon Kudirka (George) of Hernando, Florida, along with 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one brother, and one sister.
Emmett was an avid hunter. He was a very talented artist, woodcarver and craftsman. He was a Boy Scout Leader. He loved being surrounded by his family. For many years he ran a dairy and raised cattle.
Graveside services will be held at Mesopotamia Cemetery in Eutaw, Alabama on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Chaplain Scott Fulford presiding.
Visitation will follow at Eutaw United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to the Greene County Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 431, Eutaw, Alabama 35462.
Pallbearers will be Chris Kudirka, Taylor Kudirka, John Solomon, John Paul Denton, Ryan Upchurch, Clift Henderson, John Acton, and Bennie Abrams III.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gordon Colson and John Lamb.
