

NORTHPORT - Faye Walker Posey, age 88, of Northport, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Heritage Health and Rehab. Services will be Friday, September 2, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Jim Headley and Mike Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremation, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be today, September 1, 2016, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Her husband of 53 years, Amos Posey; a son, Gene Posey; her parents, John Daniel and Nettie Walker; and nine brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Survivors include her sons, John Posey and Danny Posey (Joy); daughter-in-law, Sharon Posey Wright (Rick); grandchildren, Mark Posey, Jonathan Posey and Kelly Posey Colburn; a great-granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Colburn; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Posey was a native of Pickens County before moving to Tuscaloosa to begin her family. She was employed by Debra Knit, Piece Goods and Fabric Center before retiring and was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Faye will always be remembered for her love of quilting, crocheting and crafting as well as her infamous macaroni and cheese and orange pound cake. Pallbearers will be John Posey, Mark Posey, Jonathan Posey, Wayne Beck, James Irby and Jimmy Trawick. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Regina Harrell, the nurses and staff at Heritage Health and Rehab Station 4, Bruce and Brenda Livingston, Tommy and Judy MiIIs, Mr. John Duncan, Mrs. Trillie Montgomery and family, members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, former neighbors of 30th Avenue East in Alberta and current neighbors in Windsong North. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Caring Days or a charity of your choice.
