
Frank M. Berry, age 92, of Tuscaloosa, died Nov. 7, 2010, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with Chad Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Berry; parents, Grover and Stella Berry; brothers, Robbie, Grover, Jr., Roger, and Cecil Berry; and a sister, Nina Calahan.
Survivors include his daughter, Debbie Elmore (Jeff); grandchildren, Jeffrey Elmore II (Trista) and Justin Elmore; a great-grandchild, Brinkley Kate Elmore; and several nieces and nephews.
Frank (Papaw Berry) was born and raised in Elrod, Ala. After serving in the Air Force during World War II, he returned to Tuscaloosa where he worked for Gulf States Paper Corp. for 37 years. He was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. His gentle kindness was an inspiration to all who met him.
Pallbearers will be Richard Swindal, Jeff Hartley, Rick Larimore, George Berry, Kenny Davidson, and Wayne Collins.
Honorary pallbearers are Donna Lowery, Florea Sansing and staff, Peggy Larimore, Helen Berry, Deborah Bialek, and staff of Hospice of West Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama or Caring Days.
