FOSTERS – Glenda Faye Deese Warren, age 81, passed away June 10, 2021 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Garvin officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Ms. Warren was preceded in death by her parents, Marilea Marie Latham and William Thomas Earl Deese; brother, William Jerry Deese; and sister, Annie Lou “Mickey” Whitehead.
She is survived by her sisters, Joan Deese Wood (Tommy), Annette Deese Oliver, and Edna Gayle Deese (Andoe) Harden.
Two days before her 82nd birthday, Glenda went to be with the Lord. She grew up in Fosters, Alabama, graduating from TCHS in 1956 while serving as the church pianist. She graduated from DCH Nursing School in 1959 and began her career devoted to serving others. Her family regarded her as the family “doctor” before calling the real doctor. Her other interests included cooking, gardening, crafts, playing canasta and dominoes.
Pallbearers will be Mark Wood, Nick Deese, Toby Deese, Andy Oliver, Kevin Deese, Eric Deese, Ray Albertson, Jason Rudman, and Brennon Bailey.
Honorary pallbearers are her Canasta Card Group, Auditorium Sunday School Class of Grants Creek Baptist Church, and DCH Regional Medical Center doctors and 5 North nursing staff.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grants Creek Church Ministries or a favorite charity.
