Gwendolyn Johnson

Gwendolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Clifton McDaniel and Elva Anne Barge; sons, Doug and Wayne Johnson; daughter-in-law, Kisha Johnson; sisters, Dorothy LaGrone, Betty Sims, Irene Brown, and Shirley Elledge; and her brothers, David and Larry McDaniel. She is survived by her husband Raiford Eugene Johnson of Moundville, AL; daughter, Alinda Darlene Johnson Miller (Jeff); grandchildren, Caitlin Miller, Hannah Johnson, and Hunter Johnson; sister, Kathleen Lint; many nieces and nephews.

Gwendolyn was born in Tuscaloosa, AL, on August 6, 1948. She worked for the Hale County Board of Education as a bus driver and lunchroom worker until her retirement. She loved children, especially her own and her grandchildren. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. She loved cooking and taking care of her family. Gwendolyn was married to her husband Raiford for 60 years. She will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Gilliam, Hunter Johnson, Tim Taylor, Trent Taylor, Ted Barrett, Reggie Taylor, Clint Perry, and Chuck Perry.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Larry Skelton and staff, Amedisys Hospice, Haley Reynolds, Shamoka Wilder, Danielle Hobson, Leigh Gaddy, Chaplin Ron Martin, Bob and Lynne Chavis, and friends and family.
