Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Wilder; mother, Marjorie (Ebo) Wilder.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Wilder; daughter, Megan Wilder (Josh); son, Allen Wilder (Kayla); sisters, Tammy Hutchins (Vic), Tina Adams; grandchildren, Caleb Wilder, Ryleigh Kennard, Harrison Kennard, Isaac Gunter, Clayton Wilder; beloved father figure, Larry Davis and a multitude of friends, family, and business associates.
Patrick Wilder was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, pastor, business owner, and a deeply respected member of his community. To those who knew him best, he was far more than any title could ever describe. He was a source of strength, wisdom, laughter, protection, and unwavering love. He was the kind of man whose presence made people feel safe, understood, and cared for.
Patrick spent his life working hard for the people he loved. His hands told the story of years of sacrifice, long days, perseverance, and devotion to his family. He believed in providing for those he loved, standing by them through every hardship, and teaching by example. He taught his children the value of gratitude, compassion, respect, faith, and resilience. He lived a life marked by quiet strength and steady love, always putting others before himself.
On March 4, 1983, Patrick married the love of his life, Pamela Denise Nalley. Their marriage was one built on deep love, faithfulness, and commitment. Anyone who knew Patrick knew how dearly he loved Pamela. She was truly the love of his life, and together they built a family and a life filled with faith, laughter, loyalty, and enduring love. Through every season of life, they remained side by side, devoted to one another.
In 1994, Patrick dedicated his life to the Lord under the leadership of Pastor McGaraty. His faith became the foundation of his life and guided the way he loved and served others. He faithfully attended West Brookwood Church for more than twenty years before feeling called into ministry himself. He later ministered at New Hope Assembly, and in 2016, under Pastor Travis Criss, he became officially ordained through the Baptist Association and began his ministry at Liberty Baptist Church. Patrick loved his church family deeply, and he was deeply loved in return. His ministry was never about recognition or position. It was about people. He had a gift for comforting others, encouraging them through difficult times, and reminding them of God’s love and grace.
Throughout his life, Patrick touched countless people with his kindness, generosity, and faith. One of the greatest influences on his spiritual journey and ministry was Vic Hutchins, whom Patrick loved and respected deeply.
In 2003, Patrick and his beloved wife Pam founded A&M Fire Protection, a company named after their children, Allen and Megan. Through A&M Fire Protection, Patrick dedicated himself to protecting the lives of others through the installation of fire sprinkler and fire protection systems across the state of Alabama. His work could be found in major institutions including UAB, the University of Alabama, Children’s Hospital, and countless other homes, buildings and businesses throughout the state. Patrick took immense pride in his work and approached it with the same integrity and dedication that defined every area of his life. His remarkable work ethic and commitment to fire safety leave behind a lasting legacy of protection hidden quietly above ceilings and within rafters all across Alabama, safeguarding lives for generations to come.
Above all else, Patrick loved his family. Being a husband, father, and grandfather brought him immense joy and pride. He was the steady presence his family leaned on through every trial and celebration alike. He carried burdens quietly, loved fully, and gave selflessly. Even through hardship, he never lost his compassion, his humor, or his faith.
The loss of Patrick leaves an emptiness that words cannot fully express. He was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed every single day. Yet the love he gave, the lessons he taught, the faith he lived out, and the lives he changed will continue on through all those who were blessed enough to know him.
Patrick Wilder leaves behind a loving family, cherished friends, a devoted church family, and a legacy of faith, strength, kindness, protection, and unconditional love that will never be forgotten.
Pallbearers will be Brian Nalley, Austin Scarbrough, Brandon Adams, Chase Adams, Waylen Hutchins, Connor Crumpton.
