Jackie is survived by his daughter, Raychel Newton; son James Edward Townsend Watts; sister Polly Anna Watts; brother Kenneth Wayne Watts; and grandchild Luka Hayse Newton.
Jackie was preceded in death by his son Gunner D. Watts, his father Jack V. Watts, and his mother Eva (Polly) C. Watts.
Jackie's visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd. East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35405. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 PM, with the committal service following at Memory Hill Gardens. Bro. Dolan Davis presiding.
Jackie was born and raised in Tuscaloosa County and graduated from Tuscaloosa County High. He had a love for football, dirt cars and a passion for glasswork that led to him becoming the owner of Metro Glass. Jackie loved his kids dearly and will be greatly missed.
Serving as pallbearers are Brion Hardin, James Watts, Toby Dodson, Stan Pate, and Larry McDaniel.
