We celebrate in knowing that while our hearts are heavy because we feel a loss, he is now home with his Lord and Savior. He lived a life of service to his God, his country, and to his family and dearest friends. During his life, he served as deacon, minister of music, and pastor. While many remember Jimmy because of the work he did with his hands as a carpenter and handyman, we all share in our memories of the work he did from his heart.
While he greatly enjoyed football and racing, his passions were the Lord, music, and his family. Times spent traveling and singing with his brothers and sisters in the group they formed in 1967, The Colburn Family, and laughing and drinking coffee with his special friend, Jackie were moments dear to his heart.
He is survived by his daughters, Janet Colburn Lambert and her husband Chad, and Sheila Colburn Tierce and her husband Matthew; his son, James Robert Colburn Jr. and his wife Shannon; his grandchildren, Micaela Tierce, Max Tierce, Ryan Colburn, Olivia Colburn, Aidan Lambert, and Maggie Kate Lambert; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers include Mack Davis, Matthew Davis, Terry Colburn, Steve Colburn, Jeff Colburn, and Greg Marcum.
Honorary pallbearers include Jackie and Linda McAteer, Betty and Gary Marcum, Bobby and Shirley Hoggle, Charlie and Lori McDaniel, Ed Williams, Faye Colburn, Frances Eads, Jaysa Stewart, Joyce Holland, Bruce Albright, Karen Howard, Chelli Jones, Chas Hardy, Melissa Mitchell, Pam Lambert, and Nell Schryer. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Virginia Ledbetter and Kay, Colleen, Vanessa, and Faye from Alacare.
Big Daddy, Paw-Paw, Jim, and Mr. Jimmy will be forever loved and greatly missed
