Janet Marie Sargent

Janet Marie Sargent of Coaling, Alabama, aged 66, passed away on April 28, 2023, at DCH Regional Medical Center, Tuscaloosa, AL. A memorial visitation will be held May 3, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Graveside service will follow immediately after at Memory Hill Gardens in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Janet cared about family more than anything including her husband Ted (the love of her life who came into her life unexpectedly and loved her as the queen she was and was by her side until the very end), her kids and her grandchildren. She was an amazing mother with a great heart and would do anything for them. Janet thought of others before herself and was an all-around great person to meet. She also loved her dogs as if they were her own children. She was also an amazing cook and always made sure that there was food at family events. The last several years were difficult for her as she was in pain but always tried to hide it to protect her family from worrying. Janet had a strong relationship with Jesus and would always make sure that her and Ted would pray together nightly before going off to bed.

Janet is preceded in death by her father, Robert Morris; mother, Patricia Morris; brother, Traian Morris; and sister, Suzie. She is survived by her loving husband, Ted Sargent, of Coaling, AL; her daughters, Carolyn (Alan) Edwards of Tampa, FL and Teresa Price of Northport, AL; her sons, Michael (Nikki) Price of Coaling, AL and Howard Price of Alabama; step-daughters, Shannon Sargent of Anniston, AL and Shar Owens of Brookwood, AL; step-sons, Matthew Sargent of Dallas, TX and Micah (Jason) Sargent of Dallas, TX; grandchildren Candace Jackson, Triston Morrison, Clifford Morrison, Ann Marie (Dustin) Askew, Cody (Katelyn) Wickliffe, Hunter (Bailey) Wheat, Emily (Owen) Wheat, Hannah Foley, Tyler Price, Desiree Price, Zachary Price, Madison (Bryan) Loflin, Elijah Doane, Noah Sargent, Logynn Sargent, Ella Rose Sargent, Heath Sargent, Keely Sargent, Jenna Sargent, Tiffany (Lee) Hurley, Jesse (Brooke) Sellers; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Erica Eberhardt , and Melissa O’Connell; brother, Tris Morris.

The funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 3rd with visitation from 10-11 A.M. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home 2200 Skyland Blvd E Tuscaloosa, AL 35405 and then a Graveside service to follow at 11 A.M. in the adjoining cemetery, Memory Hill Gardens.

Pallbearers include her grandsons Triston Morrison, Clifford Morrison, Hunter Wheat, Zachary Price, Cody Wickliffe, and Noah Sargent.
