Jimmie Alvin ""Gas"" Johnson, age 76, of Tuscaloosa, died October 23, 2016. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at Memory Hill Gardens with Dr. Robert Eaton officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 26, 2016, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Arthur Johnson and Eva Earline Johnson; brother, Rayford Johnson; father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. R. V. Rominger; and brother-in-law, Aubrey Cotton Lake. Survivors include his wife, Sara Johnson; daughters, Sherry Eaton (Robert) and Heather Bobo (Mike); sister, Dorothy Lake; grandchildren, Sierra Bobo, Victoria Bobo Amber Thompson (Jason), Wesley Martin, Kaitlin Mixon (Case), Kade Eaton, and John Eaton; great-grandchildren, Haven and Dax Thompson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joe Litton (Diane), Linda Reach (Charles), Dana Adams, Ronnie Rominger (Karen), Jan Strickland and Eve Gray; and countless nieces and nephews. For over forty years, Gas was a dedicated and hardworking truck driver. Between his years in The Air Force and trucking, he had traveled to all fifty states. He could tell you any route without even looking at a map. He had many adventures in his lifetime and always had a big story to go along with them. He never met a stranger on his journey in this world. His trips would take him away for long spans of time but everyone knew that all his roads led back to Sara, the love of his life. They shared forty-two years together and stood by each other's side through thick and thin. He will be greatly missed. Until we meet again, 10-4 and roger that good buddy. Fly high! Pallbearers will be Mike Bobo, Wesley Martin, John Eaton, Greg Lake, Anthony Nobles, Daniel Reynolds, Frankie Pugh and Robert Beneke. Honorary pallbearers are Jason Lake, Charles Reach, Joe Litton, Ronnie Rominger, Mike Strickland, Jimmy Gray, Larry Adams, the Friday morning Men of Prayer Group, Mark White, Clay White and the doctors and staff at Cancer Care Center of Tuscaloosa.
