Jimmy E. Murphy

Jimmy E. Murphy, age 82, of Tuscaloosa, died December 16, 2015, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2015, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.He was preceded in death by his parents, G.V. and Carrie Murphy and brothers, James, Bill and Jack.Survivors include his wife, Mary Murphy; daughters, Janie Fowler (Steve) and Lisa Edwards (Michael); son, Jim Murphy (Jan); sisters, Dorothy Gilliland and Magalene Wilborn; grandchildren, Cari Seale, Adam Murphy, Jessica Murphy and Blake Edwards; and great-grandchildren, Makinze Leow and Roman Seale.Jimmy was one of the best painters in Tuscaloosa until he had to stop due to vision problems. He was married for 60 years to his wife, Mary. Jimmy loved spending time with his kids and grandkids along with being outside in his garden.Pallbearers will be Michael Edwards, Blake Edwards, Steve Fowler, Rodney Fisher, Bubba Ryan, Brandon Fowler, Wayne Fowler and Andy Phillips.
