John was born on April 27, 1938. He was a life long resident of Tuscaloosa which is where he opened/managed his own auto repair shop. Repairing vehicles (and anything else) was his passion. If anyone ever had a question on how to fix or tow a car, he had the "old-fashioned" knowledge and was always the one to ask. He could tell you the best fishing and hunting spots the county had to offer and what time of the day you needed to be there to have the best luck leaving with something. From picking to canning, his recipes and other kitchen secrets were some of the best that you'll never find anywhere else. His sense of humor wasn't for everyone but it was perfect for those who knew him best. His grandkids and great grandkids were his favorite visitors and he never turned down the opportunity to catch up with any of his old friends that stopped by. He will be deeply missed by everyone, especially by those who loved him the most.
A visitation for John will be held Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35405, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
