Joyce Delane Wilson

TUSCALOOSA - Joyce Delane Wilson, age 84, passed away July 3, 2021 at her home. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Garner, Bro. Jon Wiggins, and Bro. Paul Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Ms. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Celesta Wilson of Newtonville in Fayette; brothers, Don Wilson and Buddy Wilson; son-in-law, Ronnie Channell; grandson, Seth Channell; and great-granddaughter, Scarlett Langford.

She is survived by her daughters, Jackie Channell and Pam Bridges (Phil); sons, Danny Dyer and Cliff Dyer; grandchildren, Jacob Channell, Joshua Fischer, Sydney Langford, Lynsey Grissett, Patricia Dyer, Jordan Coleman, Allison Dyer; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Joyce graduated from Fayette High School in 1955 and attended Shelton State Beauty School. She retired from JC Penney, was head bank teller at Secor Bank, worked for Tuscaloosa Answering Service, and was a receptionist at Emergi-Care for Dr. Bobo. She retired at 80 years old. Joyce was a faithful caregiver to her mother. She attended Skyland Baptist Church where she taught 3rd Grade Sunday School and sang in the choir. After retirement, she loved working in her flower gardens with her dog, Charlie, by her side.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Channell, Josh Fischer, Phil Bridges, James Mitchell, Daniel Grissett, and Mark Dyer.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. and Mrs. Bobo, staff of Emergi-Care Family Medical Clinic, and Hospice of West Alabama.
