Linda Blackwood

A Celebration of Life will be held on at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Eli Teske; mother, Elizabeth Teske; brothers, John Teske, Roy Teske, David Teske, Emil Teske, Donald Teske; sisters, Louise Colvin, Dorothy Tyner, Jo Tyner, and Mary Wilkerson.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Blackwood; daughter, Veronica Gaddy (WC); sons, Tyrone Blackwood (Tina); sisters, Becky Blackwood (Richard), Barbara Wyers (Ronnie); brother, Charles Teske and a host of loved nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Hunter Gaddy, Trista Elmore (Jeffrey), Calli Tubbs (Tyler), Jeremiah Blackwood (Whitney), Will Blackwood, Emma Blackwood; great grandchildren, Brinkley and Tucker Elmore, Samantha and Ty Blackwood, Ella, Sophia and William Blackwood, Remi and Lennon Tubbs.

Linda Blackwood, a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on January 20, 2026, at the age of 81. Linda was one of 13 children born to Eli and Elizabeth Teske in Oakman, Alabama. There she met the love of her life, Rayburn Blackwood. They spent 64 years together and raised two children, Veronica and Tyrone Blackwood. She was a wonderful mother to them. She had 6 grands and 9 great grands. She was a devoted member of her church, Bible Baptist, where her faith guided her life. She loved deeply and poured her heart into her husband, kids, grandkids, and friends. To know her was to love her. She was one of a kind and loads of fun to be around. Each grandchild thought they were her favorite because that's how she made them feel. Her legacy of faith, family, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She prayed daily for all of her family that they would know the Lord so that they could spend eternity with her in Heaven. Phil 4:13

Pallbearers will be Hunter Gaddy, Jeremiah Blackwood, Will Blackwood, Tyler Tubbs, Ty Blackwood, Jeffrey Elmore, and Tucker Elmore.

Honorary pallbearers are Bible Baptist Church, Mike Chambers, Clyde Beard, Dusty Bouchillon, Will Kelly, Neila Sherie Terry, Mark Falls, and Alan Brooks.
