Mrs. Magnolia H. Brown was born on June 15, 1929, in Sumter County, Alabama. At an early age, she relocated with her family to Bessemer, Alabama. She was the beloved eldest of thirteen children born to John Henry and Agnes Louise Horn.
Magnolia received her early education in Bessemer and went on to pursue higher learning at Alabama A&M University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. With a passion for nurturing young minds, she served as a devoted educator in the Greene County School System for nearly four decades, leaving an indelible mark on generations of students.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized. Following her marriage to the love of her life, Robert Brown, Magnolia became a faithful member of Mt. Sinai United Methodist Church in Mantua, Alabama, under the leadership of Rev. B.G. Green. She served diligently and lovingly until her health began to decline.
Mrs. Brown’s legacy of strength, grace, and compassion lives on through her family and all who were blessed to know her.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving children: Harold, Jerry, and Renetta Gale Brown, her adored grandchildren: Jamilah, Lailah, Robert Jerrame, and Jerhonda, her great-granddaughter Golden, and her devoted surviving siblings: Eleenor, Doris, Rosie, and Isaac
She is also remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, and former students whose lives were touched by her wisdom, warmth, and unwavering kindness.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:2In L
