It feels like yesterday when my family lived beside you and Mara. I remember coming over to play with Mara and we may have lost paths for some years. But a year after coming back, I saw you as my substitute in Mrs. Martin’s 10th Advanced US History class. I was so excited to see you and here about how you and Mara had been. I had missed y’all a lot💕 Then I moved to Georgia October 5th and didn’t hear about the news till I saw Hillcrest’s post about it and I just couldn’t believe what I saw. It still hurts to even think you’re gone 💔 I can’t even imagine how Mara is because I know y’all had a good bond from the stories you would tell me. You were always so nice to everyone and loved everyone how they deserved to be loved. I’ll never forget the kindness you gave me throughout my entire life🤍🕊 I hope Mara get better soon as I can’t even imagine how she feels💕

Mrs. Patterson and I worked side by side at Hillcrest High School. She would always come in and have some type of story or give you some type of information whether it was about school, personal, or something in the media. She  will be missed! Rest peacefully!
 -SPED DEPT. 

Maria and I began working together in 2014 at Holt High School we clicked immediately. Not surprising since she is a wonderful individual. She became a dear friend of mine. She is someone I could always lean on at work or outside of work when needed. Although, we ended up going to different schools we eventually joined back again at Hillcrest. I looked forward to always seeing your smiling face because you was always a joy to be around. Maria your soul was beautiful inside and out. I could always count on Maria when I needed a shoulder to lean on or just needed support. I remember during your time of studying when you would message me about  a question concerning a professor (most of the time the grade the professor may have given you) I told you it was okay you done your best. I have never heard anything negative from you except for the election or something concerning our President. Girl I miss these talks and messages but I know one day I will get to update you again on our crazy Country or else you will probably be able to update me on somethings because I know you know first hand now since you are in control. I miss you and will see you again one day. Love you girl.

Maria and I worked together at Hillcrest but become very close friends. She was very dear to me and we shared a very close friendship. I loved her dearly and miss her so very much.  I’ll see you again my sweet sweet friend.  Love you!!

I have no words to describe how much I miss my aunt Maria... she was literally like another mother figure to myself, especially for the past year and a half she has been there for me so much! I will always miss you and your sweet laugh. I love you fly high with Gran❤️

I remember  when Maria's family was going to Chapel Hill Baptist Church and Maria's mother Mrs. Bernice was pregnant with her. I thought she was the prettiest little girl when she was born. I watched her grow up into a beautiful woman. I am heart broken that she has passed away. Her family , Tim, Mr. Colburn, and all the others have lost so much in the last several years. My heart and prayers go out to all of them at this time of tragic loss.
