

Marshall was born on August 11, 1939 to Melvin and Nella McDonald in Birmingham, AL. After Marshall graduated from West End High School, he enlisted in the Army and served for two years in active service and two years as a reserve. Following his discharge from the Army, he worked in various industries but found the most opportunity working for the State of Alabama, retiring in August 2001 as the Alabama Beverage Control District Supervisor for the Tuscaloosa region. Marshall met Patsy while working at Newberry’s. They married in 1971 and went on to have two children, Marsha and Patrick.
Marshall enjoyed many activities in the community including serving with American Legion Post 34, volunteering with the Duncanville Volunteer Fire Department and holding a position on the Mitchell Water Board. As a long-time resident of Duncanville, Marshall was a devoted University of Alabama fan and loved watching Alabama football.
Marshall was predeceased by his parents, Melvin McDonald and Nella McDonald as well as brothers, Roger McDonald and Stanley McDonald. He is survived by wife, Patsy; daughter, Marsha; son, Patrick (Ginger) and grandchildren, Conner McDonald, Anna McDonald and Jesse Bridges.
Services will be held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 2PM. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
