

She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Muncher McCormack; father, James Howard Brown and mother, Velma Lillian Wheat Brown; son, Ronald Alton McCormack; brothers, Robert H. Brown, Oliver Ward Brown, and James Howard Brown, Jr.; sisters, Velma Catherine Brown Lovelace, Della Mae Winters Brown, Flora Jean Brown Ronningen, and Juanita Theo Brown McFarland.
She is survived by her sons, Frank Michael McCormack (Dianne Donahue McCormack), Nancy Baird McCormack, Daniel Alan McCormack (Karen Fulper McCormack); sisters, Nana Mae Brown Reid, Addie Lee (Dip) Brown Livingston, Margaret Louise Brown Tyner, Emma Jewell Brown Booth, and Bettie Joyce Brown O’Bryant; brother, John Harold Brown; grandchildren, Mary Katherine McCormack Chia, Frank Michael McCormack, Jr., Laurie McCormack Swift, Leigh McCormack Huber, Daniel Alan McCormack II, and Alayna McCormack Townsend.
Mary Sue was born in Tuscaloosa County (Brownville), Alabama on June 28, 1932, and lived on the family farm with her 11 brothers and sisters. She graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School, then met Frank on a blind date and they married on February 2, 1951. Mary Sue and Frank spent their entire 71 years of marriage in Tuscaloosa. Mary Sue was a stay-at-home Mom, was active in church and school activities, and later educated herself and obtained her Real Estate License and was a successful realtor.
She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa for almost 50 years and served the Lord there in many different capacities. She was a faithful poll worker for decades. She enjoyed family time, travel, gardening, writing, drawing, and many other activities.
She loved the Lord, was a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Frank McCormack, Jr., Alan McCormack, David Swift, Jr., Hamilton Huber, Jeffrey Townsend, and Nei-Kuan Chia.
A visitation for Mary Sue will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35405. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 11:00 AM at Memory Hill Gardens, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35405.
