Rosey was preceded in death by her parents, William Earl and Jessie Ardee Goodman, brother Harold and sisters Mary Earl and Joyce Nadine.
She leaves behind 2 loving siblings, sister Minnie Ora Jones and brother, Robert David Goodman (Ginny). She also had many adoring nieces and nephews, great nieces & nephews and great-great nieces & nephews and many friends.
Rosey….just the sound of her names brings a smile.
Rosey was such a sweet, funny and sassy spirit. If you were lucky enough to be included in her circle, she loved you immensely. You were hers and nobody talked bad about “hers”….especially her beloved “Big Brother” who could do no wrong in her eyes. Big Sister was her Alabama Football buddy, Christmas vacation spot, and one she could count on no matter what.
She was a talented crafter. Many were the recipients of a crocheted angel, snowflake, or bookmark, maybe a door wreath made of tied ribbon and cloth or a colored page from one of many of her books. If you were “hers” you were included in her list of “giving”. She loved her crafts and enjoyed sharing them.
Rosey enjoyed being sassy and had a happy laugh that will forever remain in our hearts and memories. She enjoyed family gatherings…especially if it included a steak dinner!
Being part of the TARC Program, she traveled around the United States, often being the VIP of Honor. She met many Government Officials and celebrities. She became friends with Loretta Lynn and was often invited to her house for visits. Of course, she LOVED country music even more from that point on! However, her #1 love was Elvis Presley. Her family will always remember her singing along with Elvis records or radio to “Blue Suede Shoes” or “Jailhouse Rock” or “You Ain’t Nothin’ But a Hound Dog”. Sing on, Sweet Rosey, sing on!
We know Rosey is in Heaven now, complete and whole, perfect in every way. We know she is smiling and dancing and celebrating with our Heavenly Father. We love you and will miss you terribly on this earth, but we know we will see you again!
If you would like to honor Rosey with a memorial, we would like to suggest a donation to The RISE Program in her memory. And thank you ever so much! She would be tickled pink….or red, which was her favorite color!
