

Regina Anne McCarter Horne, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at DCH Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Her life was defined by love—for her family, her faith, and the many people she cared for throughout her journey.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Heritage Funeral Home in Tuscaloosa, AL, with Pastor Chuck Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Regina was married for 58 wonderful years to her beloved husband, Carl I. Horne. She retired from Easter Seals of West Alabama, where she dedicated her career to helping and caring for others. Regina was also a faithful member of Valley View Baptist Church, where she found joy in fellowship and worship.
Family was her heart’s greatest treasure. She is survived by her husband, Carl I. Horne; daughter, Mitzi Pitzing (Brandie); son, Chris Horne (Karen); and her cherished grandchildren, Carli Colburn, Caleb Colburn (Tannah) Annika Horne, and Camdyn Colburn. Regina was affectionately known as “Grandmama,” a role she embraced with love, pride, and endless joy. She made every moment with her grandchildren special—from celebrating their accomplishments to offering unwavering encouragement and the warmest hugs.
Regina is also survived by her brother, Charles McCarter (Shawn); sister, Vicki Hubbard (Victor); and many nieces, nephews, and a precious dog, Bogie, who brought her daily companionship and happiness.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alvis “Charlie” McCarter, and mother, Hazel Dean Williams McCarter Baker.
Regina touched countless lives with her gentle spirit and unwavering care for others. Her legacy of compassion, family devotion, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who loved her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Colburn, Will Brewer, Chase Etheridge, Ridge Kirkland, Quinn Kirkland, and David Cole.
